The Point of Life Is to Live It: A Reminder for Moms Who Feel Stuck

As moms, we’re pros at juggling a million things at once. From managing schedules to making sure everyone has what they need, it often feels like we’re running a never-ending marathon. And somewhere along the way, we can find ourselves stuck in a cycle of rinse-and-repeat days that blur together—wake up, handle responsibilities, go to bed, repeat. It’s what I like to call Groundhog Day syndrome.

But here’s a truth we need to hear: the point of life isn’t to simply survive it. The point of life is to live it.

When Routine Turns Into a Rut

There’s a certain comfort in routine. It helps us manage the chaos and keep things running smoothly. But when that routine becomes so rigid that we forget our dreams, it’s no longer serving us—it’s trapping us.

Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “One day, I’ll start that business” or “Someday, I’ll chase that dream”? But that “someday” never comes because you’re too busy managing the present. And while it’s easy to push those dreams aside for the sake of your family or responsibilities, the truth is, ignoring them comes at a cost.

Your Dreams Matter, Mama

The dreams tugging at your heart aren’t random. They’re there for a reason. They’re a part of you, the version of yourself you’re meant to grow into. And chasing those dreams doesn’t mean you’re taking away from your family. In fact, it means you’re adding to their lives by showing them what’s possible when you follow your heart.

Starting the business, writing the book, taking the leap—whatever your “thing” is, it’s not selfish. It’s an essential part of living fully and authentically.

Why It’s Time to Step Out of Survival Mode

When you allow yourself to live beyond the daily grind, you discover so much more about who you are and what you’re capable of. Life is meant to be a balance of caregiving and dream chasing, of stability and adventure.

Imagine showing your kids what it looks like to go after a goal. Imagine creating a life where you’re not just making it through each day but truly thriving. That’s the example they need—not a mom who’s stuck in autopilot but a mom who’s living boldly.

How to Start Living the Life You Want

  1. Revisit Your Dreams
Take a moment to ask yourself: What lights me up? Write it down. Acknowledge it. Your dreams deserve space in your life.

  2. Start Small
You don’t have to leap headfirst into massive changes. Start with one small step. Maybe it’s dedicating an hour a week to planning your business. Maybe it’s taking a class or carving out time for your passion.

  3. Let Go of Perfection
It’s easy to feel like you need everything perfectly aligned before you can start. But life rarely works that way. Start messy. Start scared. Just start.

  4. Remember Your Why
Whenever doubt creeps in, remind yourself why you’re doing this. For you. For your family. For the life you’re meant to live.

You Can Thrive in Both Worlds

Being a mom and chasing your dreams aren’t mutually exclusive. In fact, they fuel each other. The energy, fulfillment, and purpose you gain from pursuing your passions overflow into your home and family.

So, let this be your permission slip. Step out of Groundhog Day mode. Stop waiting for the “right time.” You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. The point of life is to live it—not just to get through it.

Mama, it’s time to do the thing. 💕
